Heat-Activated Color-Changing Collectible Card (Thermochromic Ink)

An anime character collectible card with a thermochromic ink layer printed over part of the artwork. At room temperature the ink shows as solid black; when warmed — for example by a fingertip — it becomes transparent and reveals the artwork printed underneath. As the card cools, the ink returns to its original colour, so the effect can be repeated. The video and photos show the card before, during and after the change.

Designs, card size, paper and the areas covered by the colour-changing ink are customisable, and thermochromic printing can be combined with foil stamping, spot UV and other finishes. Suitable for collectible card series, fan merchandise and interactive promotional cards.

Made by Yoofo Packaging in Qingpu, Shanghai — 30 years of printing and packaging experience, with card printing and gift boxes produced under one roof, so cards and their packaging can be matched in colour and finish. Physical samples are made for approval before bulk production.
